HiPer Haus is a specialist building-performance business focused on the systems that shape everyday life inside a home: fresh air, stable temperatures, controlled moisture and efficient energy use. We bring testing, design, installation and commissioning together so decisions are based on how the whole home performs—not on isolated products or guesswork.

Where it started
One house changed the way we think about every home.
HiPer Haus traces back to a home founder Jonathen Hindry worked on as an apprentice plumber in New Zealand. It was well ahead of its time: designed for airtightness, supplied with dedicated fresh air and efficient heat pump hot water, with unusual care given to the health of the people who would live there.
It was the first time he had seen a home treated as one connected system instead of a stack of separate trades. That idea still guides HiPer Haus today: healthy, comfortable homes are measured and designed—not assumed.

Trade experience, building physics and practical follow-through.
I’m Jonathen—most people call me Jono. I founded HiPer Haus to help homeowners and building professionals get clearer, evidence-based answers about how their homes perform.
My background began more than 25 years ago in plumbing and grew into heat pump hot water, MVHR design and installation, blower door testing and Passive House construction. That mix matters because the best result rarely sits inside one trade—it comes from understanding how every part affects the next.
